Kenneth Way, father of
Cedrick T. Steele, poses a question about violence. An 18 year-old
student at Bunker Hill Community College, Steele was shot in March, 2007
in Roxbury. Prosecutors say he was targeted by two gang members only
because he was seen in the territory of a rival gang. Among those
marching in memory of Steele was a team from Bunker Hill Community
College, including a faculty member, Margaret Witham, whose bother was
killed in a shooting four years ago in Florida. A scholarship fund has
been established in Steele's memory. Contributions can be made at local
branches of Bank of America.
